RILEY BLAKEWAY

Riley Blakeway is an Australian-born, award-winning writer/director based between Australia and EU. His narrative films, commercials, and music videos have screened at festivals worldwide including MIFF, SXSW, the UKMVAs, Raindance, Ciclope and The New Orleans Film Festival. His work has been featured by the likes of The New York Times, The Atlantic, Pitchfork, NPR, Rolling Stone and The Los Angeles Times.

Riley’s recent narrative short, A Thousand Odd Days—starring Tom Wilson and Angie Milliken—premiered at the 72nd Melbourne International Film Festival and won Best Director at both Flickerfest and St Kilda in 2025 as well as earning him a ‘Rising Talent’ selection from Inside Film Magazine. His most recent short INFINIT3 starring Sophie Wilde premiered at the 73rd Melbourne International Film Festival and landed him a place in the MIFF Accelerator Lab, supporting filmmakers moving from shorts to features.

Riley’s pitch at accelerator attracted the attention of agent Bec Smith (Anonymous Content) who is now partnering with Riley in producing his debut feature film.
